Human — a poem on humanity

I don’t know who you are in the shadows

A light appears bright, but its output remains dim

I don’t know who you are in the light

For when I walk behind, I do not see your shadow

I only see the soul, inside and out

A transcendental absurdity bleeding all over the pavement

Our greatest deception is but the only objective truth we know:

Things aren’t always what they seem

But of course the light needs the darkness to appear bright

As the darkness needs the light to show how deep the rabbit hole goes.

I don’t know who I am in the light

If not a star, a black hole

For my void is ever expanding in the darkness

I don’t know who I am in the darkness

Because even I cannot outshine the sun

But I know who I am on the pavement.

HUMAN.
